2017 Lake County Fair Queen Anna Barthol
Miss Anna Barthol was crowned the 2017 Lake County Fair Queen on July 9th at the sixth Queen’s Reception held at the Hellriegel’s Inn in Painesville Township. Anna was one of nine candidates trying out for Fair Queen.
Anna is 17 years old and lives in Mentor. Taylor attends Mentor High School where she will graduate in 2018. Anna also attends Lakeland Community College part time as a CCP (College Credit Plus) student. Anna is very active in her school. She has participated in the school band program playing clarinet for three years and served as a section leader. She is also in the jazz band, wind ensemble, pep band, commencement band, pit orchestra and has been a member of the symphonic orchestra for Mentor High School. Anna is also a member of the Tri-M Honors Music society where she volunteers at choir and orchestra events and participates in community service acts that relate to the music program. Anna has also won academic awards all her years in school for her over 4.0 GPA.
Anna is a member of Northcoast Critters 4-H club. Anna has held many important leadership positions, such as secretary, recreation director, vice president and president for two terms. Anna shows and exhibits her guinea pigs and is also a member of the American Cavy Breeders Association, American Rabbit Breeders Association and Ohio Cavy Club. Anna has won several Best in Shows and Reserve in Shows. Anna also was named the Ohio Cavy Club Youth Breeder of the Year in 2015. Anna was named as Outstanding Youth in 2015. Anna works the food booth and milkshake booth during fair for her club. Anna has been a camp counselor at Camp Whitewood for two years. Anna also has participated in several community service projects as a 4-H member with and without her animals.
Queen Anna will represent the Lake County Fair at various community events such as festivals, parades and visiting other fairs throughout the coming year and she will also represent Lake County at the Ohio Fairs Queen Contest to be held in Columbus in January.
