2019 Lake County Fair Queen Jessica Slansky
Miss Jessica Slansky was crowned the 2019 Lake County Fair Queen on June 23rd at the eighth Queen’s Reception held at the Hellriegel’s Inn in Painesville Township. Jessica was one of eight outstanding candidates trying out for Lake County Fair Queen.
Jessica is 16 years old and lives in Concord. She will be a senior this year at Riverside High School. Jessica also attends Lakeland Community College where she is taking classes in preparation for nursing. Jessica has participated is several school activities including Riverside High School Music Chamber Festival, Riverside High School dance team, National Honor Society, Leadership Lake County, Guided Study Hall Tutor, assisted in third grade at Buckeye Elementary School, and a camp counselor and recreational leader for Riverside Local Schools 6th grade camp. Jessica was accepted into the Learning About Business (LAB) program at Lake Erie College, as well as the Explore Ag camp in Wooster, Ohio to learn more about agriculture, which is what she has a strong passion for.
Outside of school, Jessica is also involved in many 4-H and community activities. She is an active member and officer in four 4-H clubs that she is a part of. She is also involved in the Lake County Junior Fair Board and Lake County Flyers 4-H Travel Exchange Club. Jessica participates in the Arcs and Sparks welding category, where she has qualified for state fair the past 4 years and has competed at the state fair. Jessica is an alter server for her church, volunteered with the Spirit of America Program and planned spaghetti dinners and pancake breakfasts for her clubs as fundraisers. Jessica has also been dancing at Fairport Dance Academy since 2012 as a ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and hip-hop dancer. Jessica has also done various community service projects for her clubs and groups that she is involved in. Jessica has received various awards and recognition’s throughout her school and 4-H years.
Queen Jessica will represent the Lake County Fair at various community events such as festivals, parades and visiting other fairs throughout the coming year and she will also represent Lake County at the Ohio Fairs Queen Contest to be held in Columbus in January.
